If your iCloud or Safari bookmarks aren’t syncing

If your iCloud or Safari bookmarks aren't syncing across your devices, check the System Status page for known issues and your internet connection. Then check your settings on each device and restart your device to see if your bookmarks sync.

Check the System Status

Check the System Status page to see if there are any known issues affecting iCloud Bookmarks & Tabs. If you can't access the System Status page, check your internet connection.

Check your iCloud and device settings

Make sure that you're signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each of your devices, and that your devices meet the iCloud system requirements for Bookmarks. Learn what to do if you have a device with iOS 10 or earlier or macOS 10.12.5 or earlier.

On your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap iCloud. Check that you turned on Safari. If Safari is already turned on, turn it off, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on again.

  2. Make sure that the date and time settings on your iPhone or iPad are correct.

  3. Restart your browser.

  4. Restart your iPhone or iPad.

On your Mac

  1. Choose Apple menu , click System Settings, click your name, then click iCloud. Check that you turned on Safari. If Safari is already turned on, turn it off, wait a few minutes, and then turn it back on again.

  2. Make sure that the date and time settings on your Mac are correct.

  3. Restart your browser.

  4. Restart your Mac.

On your PC

  1. In iCloud for Windows, check that you set up iCloud Bookmarks. If Bookmarks is already turned on, deselect the Bookmarks checkbox and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then select Bookmarks and click Apply.

  2. Restart iCloud for Windows.

  3. Restart your browser.

  4. Try using iCloud Bookmarks in another browser.

  5. Restart your PC.

To use iCloud Bookmarks with Internet Explorer in Windows 10, click Start, click All Apps, click Windows Accessories, then click Internet Explorer.

Recover recently deleted bookmarks

  1. If you need to access a bookmark that you deleted within the last 30 days, go to icloud.com/recovery.

  2. Click Restore Bookmarks. If you see "No Bookmarks" under Restore Bookmarks, you haven't turned on Safari in iCloud settings on your devices.

If you have a folder with more than 500 bookmarks, the order of your bookmarks might not be the same on all of your devices.
